Duduma Waterfall - The Beauty of Odisha (Jeypore)

Duduma waterfall is one of the biggest waterfall in Odisha. Duduma waterfall is about 547 ft high which formed "Machkund river". By using Machkund river, a large hydroelectric project formed at that place which is also called "Machkund Hydro Electric Power Project" which is located at Onukudeli. This Hydro Electric Project helps all over the Southern Odisha for the supply of Power. Machkund power project capacity is 120 MW.

This place is mainly famous for its natural view, view point. The complete view of the Duduma waterfall is not visible from the view point. You have to trek down to see the complete view of this waterfall. The "Machkund" name is derived from the word "Matsya kunda" which is a pilgrimage area in Paderu, Andhra Pradesh.

Duduma waterfall is based on the hills of Machkund. So this area is famous for "Tribal people and Tribal culture" or you can say this area is situated in the area of  "BONDA" tribes. So Foreigner attracts to this place only because of Tribal culture. Every Sunday there is a tribal market displayed here which is well known as "HAT PODA".

Duduma Waterfall situated about 547 km from Bhubaneswar, 220 km from Visakhapatnam via Nandapur and 63 km from Jeypore via Lamtaput.

You can go by private taxi. If you are traveling from Jeypore then take the road towards Lamataput from Lamataput to Machkund is 21 km and after reaching Machkund it is 6.4 km to reach Duduma waterfall.

• To visit the power station you need to take the permission of the Machkund police station for that you need to fill the form and give all details of your vehicle then go towards Duduma waterfall.
