It's Almost Noon In Vienna...
... but it's not even 5:00 a.m. in Wisconsin. And I am awake. I've been waking up a bit earlier the last few days in an attempt to start to adjust my internal clock. This morning I awoke the earliest of all: 3:50 a.m. I could hear my mom downstairs, so I figured I might as well wake up. I'm enjoying an omelet while it's still dark outside, and I'll probably eat lunch when my husband wakes up. Hopefully this will make it easier for me to sleep on our flight to Vienna this afternoon/evening.
I got everything in our suitcases last night. We only removed a few things from the packing list—a pair of shorts for each of us, and a pair of pants for Aaron. Using the bundle method, I was able to fit all of mine in a carry-on size bag, and Aaron's would have fit in another if we would have had one of similar size that didn't have broken seams. Instead, his items are in a standard-size suitcase with plenty of room to spare. Each bag weighs more than the allotted 17.6 pounds, so we won't be carrying any luggage on the plane (we each have a backpack, though). We packed a duffle bag into my suitcase to use as a carry-on if we end up with purchases that need space in our checked luggage.
In less than 24 hours we'll be on board the River Ambassador having a bite to eat and plotting out a free day in Vienna.
