Why I'm Starting A Travel Blog

Some people would argue that I need another blog just as much as I need a hole in my head. I already blog professionally, about my fitness journey, and my vegetable garden. However, when I was planning our upcoming vacation, I found that there were very few first-person accounts of this particular type of travel—river cruising. There were a few that I truly enjoyed, but not enough to occupy me during the 16 months of planning!

Additionally, I want to have a well-written account of our trips for my own reference. We're not photo album or journal people, so when I want to relive a vacation I have to browse through our photo albums on Facebook.

Creating a public blog will serve both of these goals. I'll be able to remember the nitty gritty details of the trip should I ever desire to, and strangers around the world that enjoy vacation research as much as me will be able to feed their need for information.

We leave for our next trip, a Danube river cruise and extended stay in Prague, in 41 days. Until then, I'm planning to populate this blog with stories from our past trips, as well as preparation posts—what we're packing, how we made our travel arrangements, cool tech I use for travel management, etc.

If you come across this blog and have a travel blog of your own, please leave a comment. I'd love to start a list of active world travelers blogging about their experience.
